The Story Behind the Painting
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14
Hadassah — a Jewish orphan in exile — became Queen Esther of Persia. When a plot surfaced to annihilate her people, she risked everything: walking uninvited into the king’s throne room meant possible death. One woman’s courage saved an entire nation.
This is the first painting in the Lesser-Known Heroes series — ordinary people who stepped into extraordinary moments and changed history.
