Where does my help come from?
A woman at the end of herself looks heavenward. Her face is literally fractured—split between acrylic and oil sections—while a hopeful village glows behind her.

The Story Behind Fractured
I started with a generic village under a hopeful sky. Then I painted a woman whose life had come apart—hair askew, eyes lifted upward.
In the middle of painting her portrait, the word “fractured” hit me. I masked arbitrary sections with tape and deliberately painted some in acrylic, others in oil—creating visible fault lines across her face.
When I stepped back, I saw Psalm 121 written all over her: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord…”
